EFFIE, and a cologne
Inspired by the Shelley's
effie, bronte, persinette, limerick, safie, cologne
Safie, inspired by a character in Mary Shelley's, Frankenstein. An emotional, gothic romance and horror story, written by a woman, who at the time, couldn't use her real name to begin with. I mean, who would buy such a chilling novel written by a woman in 1818? Shocking! Safie is a Turkish girl who is a pawn to her father's selfish needs. Safie is a small but pivotal character who influences Frankenstein's Monster to want to learn. A Gothic Perfume with warm Spices like cinnamon, Cocoa, Earthiness and the warmth of vanilla.
Bronte- is inspired by the sisters of literary fame. Who hasn't read or seen, Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights? or the novel I am reading now, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall? written in 1848 and again, a pseudonym was used to disguise the female author, Anne Bronte.
A novel about a woman who leaves her husband, has to re-create a life for herself and child, ends up an artist...the story of love, devotion, oppression, betrayal, expectation....and is one of the first books in defense of women's rights. Bronte perfume is a clean, green blend of notes of moss among faintest lavender, with wild violet and a soft scent of flowers and flora with citrus and delicious fruitiness like peach and lemon lime meringue pie.
Limerick - an oakmoss based perfume inspired by walking the woods at twilight, and Byron and his famous homestead. A huge stone Abby, once covered in moss before it was restored called Newstead that still stands today. This perfume cologne has notes of Fern and Moss with forest notes, sumac and light citrus.
Persinette - homage to the wild violet and the writer who wrote Persinette which was copied by the brothers Grimm as, Rapunzel. The base of this perfume is light lavender tincture, honeysuckle, fir, rose otto and light woods. Powdery violet leaf being the main note.
Gothic, inspired by virtually every gothic novel and movie I've grown to love. What is more Goth than the red rose? and the sweetness of fairy floss which was invented in the late 1800's, also known as cotton candy. Other notes invoke buzzing bees and mossy stone pathways.
